Canadian Topographic Maps are available on-line courtesy of your taxes - so make best use of them
Download Topographic Maps
To download scans of the topographic maps, simply enter the number of the map sheet you want below and a click the download button.
These are very large files (20-30MB) so make sure you have a good internet connection!
Browse the map to find the place you are interested in - then right-click and "Save Image As" if you want to save the map.
Search For Map by Placename in Canada
Enter any placename (including mountains, passes, lakes etc) in Canada below to retreive the coordinates of the place from the National Gazeteer of Canada. Links to the relevant maps will be provided.
You must enter the correct place name - i.e. it is 'Mount Rundle' not just 'Rundle'
Some placenames occur in more than one province, so you can also add the province after a comma (e.g. "Moose Mountain, Alberta").
If nothing shows up: check your spelling. If that's good then it is probably the external database not responding.
